In January 2007, COCI approved a grant for our first project sponsorship in Nigeria. It is an honor to be able to expand our reach beyond Kenya to other countries in need in Africa.

Lagos Home for Motherless Babies in Nigeria

COCI reacted quickly when it learned of the terrible conditions in which over 53 of the world's most vulnerable children were living. These Orphans are living in an extremely impoverished environment. There are no doors on the Orphanage buildings as well as the facilities do not have air conditioning. Food is scarce and medical care is basically non-existent. Diapers, infant formula, clothes, furniture and medicines are desperately needed.

COCI's goal over the next year is to provide these precious children with the basic necessities of life. COCI Board Member Becky Robbins and her husband Jeff travel to Lagos several times a year and have taken this Project on and will help us monitor our success. These Orphans have very little support and we know we can make a difference each and every day in the health and welfare of these children.
