Each year, COCI hosts an inspirational event to raise critical funds to support children of incarcerated parents.
Join Co-Chairs, Amber Elliott, Stephanie & Ryan Fleck, and Emily & Tug Hanley on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 for an intimate three-course dinner at B&B Butchers & Restaurant's cozy rooftop patio benefiting COCI's new GEMS program.
As COVID-19 was hitting Houston, COCI saw the damage it was causing for at-risk students, especially early teen students trying to navigate middle school and the trauma of having a parent in prison. COCI took the bold step of creating GEMS – Gaining Empowerment in Middle School, an innovative new program that was designed to meet the unique needs of middle students experiencing parental incarceration.
GEMS fills a void for children who are hurt, confused and more than a little fearful of the future. Working with GEMS students has shown the urgent need to get their educations back on track and help them develop the social, emotional and cognitive skills to stay the right path.
We hope that you will consider being part of this meaningful cause that is sure to be a sold-out event. This event will have limited capacity, so be sure to secure your spot today! Sponsors who commit prior to our print deadline of Wednesday, June 2, 2021 will be listed on the program.
Underwritten by Benjamin Berg of Berg Hospitality Group, all event proceeds will directly benefit children of incarcerated parents. Proceeds will be used to expand the GEMS program to serve more middle school-aged students in need of COCI's vital program.
Together, we can build amazing futures.
